Hi All,
i've found this website as i have been searching for the value of my retro bike.

I've had this from new, it is a custom build on a Kona Hei Hei titanium frame from early 1990.
It originally came with TrackTwo forks, but the clamp at the top kept coming loose so i had it swapped back for the Project Twos it has worn ever since.
Being a custom build it is a real mixture of stuff that i spec'd at the time, some of which has been replaced over the years.
From memory (bike is sitting is storage)
Mostly Shimano Deore XT geartrain parts- thumbshifters, deraillers.
Original crankset was Champagnolo Centaur, but i switched that out in the early 2000s- still have it in a box. Now wearing a FSA set.
Rear cogs are currently Shimano 13-34 i think.
Bullseye hubs with hand built wheels with Mavic rims. Front wheel is radially spoked.
Magura rim brakes, switched in early 2000s from the first ever Maguras.
Still on the original Panaracer smoke tyre on the rear!
Syncros handlebars and stem.
Onza barends.
Kona headset.
Tioga chrome seatpost
Currently wearing TIME clipless pedals, but original Deore XT pedals with clips in a box.

Bike was bought after a heart-wrenching theft of a beloved 1988 Cinder Cone (yes, the one with the splatter paint pattern)

I'm currently riding a 2014 Hei Hei, so have a 25 year difference in models!
I have moved the NZ (Rotorua, MTB 'heaven' as they say) but bike is in UK as am I for about a month. I am toying with selling as there will be a bit of effort to get it shipped out.

Thanks in advance for any help

Cheers for the link to the catalogues, it appears my memory is a year out, it was the 1991 version (but i guess that came out in late 1990 when i got it? Cinder Cone was stolen Nov 90, Hei Hei ordered straight after)

Re:

I aim to get down to my storage unit tomorrow so will get some pics then if i can.

The only problem i noticed is that the front wheel needs some rim tape (the old tape has perished- i have a latex tube which kept deflating between rides exposing air to tape i guess), certainly nothing major :P
But will check tubes as recommended - bike never saw much riding to be honest, i discovered raves and going out to the pub instead!!!!!

Sounds about right!

Re:

If this was an 89/90 then I'd be stumped for a price as I've never seen one other than Raiden's recent project.

Still a 91 is a great frame and as indicated pictures will help. You'll make more splitting but even as a full bike it should command a price north of £350 (subject to condition).

Still hoping to see some pics and praying it's a small one

Sorry for delay, i've got photos, but have a lot going on in my life (anyone want to buy any snakes too?! and/or offer me a good paying job.....) and need to get them off phone to upload.

One thing struck me when i when to photograph it- how light it is compared to my current 2014 model!!!!
