~1988 "Jett"

Ann87

Dirt Disciple
Interesting craigslist find. Listed as an '88, seems about right, group is M730. As best as I can tell the builder was Scott Jett out of Chico, California. Not much online about him, looks like he built a few road and mountain frames. This is exactly as I picked it up yesterday. Need to swap those tires and probably change some other things around. Seems like kind of a fancy build for a frame with fender and rack mounts but I'm not complaining!

 interesting frame and fork, not a bad paint job either.

The head tube lugs and seat tube/seat stay junction are slightly reminiscent of a Mountain Goat Whiskeytown Racer and they were based in Chico as well so possibly a connection there, maybe?

Either way, that's a nicely made frame and a cool paint job. Good find!

What a beauty! 😍 Looks really nicely crafted with some nice tasty components attached. Great paint job and loving that logo. 😎 Bit of TLC, tyre swap and it's job done! As @Tsundere mentioned, would be great to hear how it rides... Sometimes we focus too much on the physical build and period correctness and forget about riding these darn things which is what MTB's are all about - the experience and freedom they gave us AND still give us!

Beautiful bike, it would be interesting to discover more about any possible Mountain Goat connection.

How does it ride?
Haven't ridden it yet, I think the tire that's on the rear currently is too big and I'd be worried about chewing up the chainstays. Thinking about ordering some Terra Ones for it! I'll post a report once I've taken it on one of the local trails!
