I'm posting this for my dad who lives in South Oxfordshire (near Wantage/Faringdon for collection purposes).
He's looking to sell his Raleigh Clubman, bought in 1981 and owned by him from new.
Used for commuting and touring in the 80s and 90s, so decent but not crazy mileage.
He seems to think it's almost all original spec apart from a few bits.....
- rear mech is a newer Campag, but he has the original Campag one to put back on
- block was changed to a larger(!) one with a 21t big cog
- toe clips are stainless rather than the original chromed ones
- needs new bar tape
It's been sat in his garage for quite a few years, so needs a jolly good clean, but under the cobwebs, etc. it looks in pretty decent nick. There are a couple of touched up spots on the top tube where sweat caused a bit of rust.
He still has the original check/assembly card signed by Frank
All in all a nice vintage Raleigh Clubman that would benefit from a bit of restoration, but even with just a clean I imagine it would ride perfectly well.
He was thinking of about £160, collection only, but potentially open to offers.
Cheers, Tom.
