Just one question,

Why a rear drum brake but not a front or alternatively why no rear rim brake :?

The original fork was a Tange BMX unit with canti braze-ons added. Not sure about the thoughts behind rear only.

I did talk to Ira Hughes, who sold the bikes originally, and he told me that the rear hub shell was modified by Chris King to fit cartridge bearings and use Phil Wood axle bolts....pretty cool trivia.
