198? Stumpjumper 24x24

hi
picked this up this afternoon locally. small size stumpy with 24" wheels.
looks to be mostly original. would like to hear if I'm correct.
also what is the exact year it is. haven't even cleaned it up.
this is how I got it. just pumped up the tires.

no one willing or able to help me out here? where are all the specialized experts.
been doing some research. components don't seem to fit any specific year.
a bit of everything from 1982 thru 1984. and some not spec'd at all.
such as f/r derailleur combo. but at least they match. any comments?
no mention of the 24" wheel option either. could that have something to do with
the difference in spec's.

Hi Roy,

I do believe it is a 1983 Stumpjumper Sport. I know GoldenEraMTB had one before. Not sure of the exact specs of it.

thanks for all the help stumpjumper1990. that certainly looks to be it.
but the spec on mine doesn't quite match. guessing there has been some mod's.
derailleurs are different but match, which is good.
the wheels are different, better I think. black araya 7x rims I believe.
and is now sporting 6 speed rear. and the stem is different.
nicer one on mine in my opinion. I found a longer seatpost in the bin.
once I get around to cleaning it up will post updated pictures.
