1973 Carlton Corsair Rescue

I fell for a big old Carlton Corsair frame at the Manc Velodrome jumble the other week and if I can get the bb out and replace the broken drive side dropout then I'd like to refinish to something like the original. All the Corsairs I can find photos of are in a gold scheme with rather blingy foil decals but the remains of the original paint on this one is a rather classy dark blue grey. Hope these photos give an idea of the colour and the seatube decal, if anyone has any shots of one in good nick I could use for reference I'd be much obliged.
Thanks,
William Chitham.

Bit later than 1973, the original bronze coloured Corsair was launched 1978. Is there a frame number on it, maybe 1983 if the third digit is a 3. Under bb guides also places it after 1973

Do the lugs have teardrop cutouts ?

Re:

Here is the seat lug and serial number - W for Worksop, A for January and 3 for 73 no?

Frame with the chain hanger looks like 1983 Pro Am but they made lots of frames the same and painted / decaled them differently.

Re:

It's a 83 made in Nottingham. Photos from Carlton cycles of worksop Facebook group. One member has a mint example.

Re:

Great, 83 it is then. Logos definitely look like yours Andy but mine doesn't look like it ever had the contrast colour on the head tube. If I ever get the bb out I think I'll do it up and post pics.
Thanks all.

William.
