Retro Newbie
Hello,

I got this Bianchi Strada as a gift from my dad who got it from my uncle many years ago. My uncle bought it brand new and I have ridden it sparingly since I got it. I want to restore the bike possibly but I have been researching some of the parts and have noticed that they might be rare and how I should go about restoring this bike.

Its serial number on the front is “5198878” but as I have already found out that doesn’t mean a lot. It is a lugged steel body marked “Tubi Calibrati [1-20]”

Parts List:

Rear Dérailleur: Shimano Altus A20
Front Dérailleur: Simplex marked on the rear “Brevete SGDG”
Front and Back brakes: Balillia
Handlebar stem: Marked “TTT”
Handlebars: maybe markings under the wraps
Brake Levers: Baililla
Wheel Hub and Lock : Gnutti
Shifters: Simplex
Pedals: have a shamrock stamp on the pedal nut

Re:

What you have is a low-end Bianchi, which looks like an early 70s bike boom import into US. Only Gnutti stopped making cycle components mid 60s.

You may be able to search for catalogues from 1960 to 75, to find a match.

Bianchi, as did most large european makers, made some fine racing bikes, but the vast majority were utility or sports bikes.

It seems to be in fine condition, does it really need any replacements?
