A friend has loaned/given me this bit of history so I thought I'd share it with you. 'Liberated' on the day of the pro road race so has been seen by all the great names, Merckx, Gimondi etc. Still not sure how he managed to stuff it up the front of his jersey and cycle home on the day!
Unfortunately the winner, Jempi Monsere from Belgium, didn't have much time to wear his Rainbow Jersey as he was killed in a race early the next year. The distance on the board being rather prophetic perhaps.
