The blue plate might be the original owners bike license plate.

That is just lovely. Is there a story to how you came by it? Even the tyres look original.

A friend of mine knew that I collect/resell bikes and he thought I might be interested in a bike that they were going to throw out at his wife's work. I said I am always interested and asked if he knew what kind of bike it was. He didn't know. Two weeks later he showed up at work and gave it to me. I was excited because of the quality/condition and I had never seen a sturmy archer 5 speed internal rear hub. Also, the leather strips around the hubs caught my attention. Lastly, the brooks saddle and generator driven lights were the icing on the cake. It rides great and fits me nicely.
