Sold 1952 Holdsworth (Tornado?) plus upgrade parts

With a heavy heart but clear mind, I am looking to sell this.

Money will be going to a charity - I haven't chosen which yet, but probably Cancer Research or something like that.

I 'inherited' it in 2018 when a family member passed away, and had intentions of restoring it. But, as most of us know, life (and several mtb's) sometimes gets in the way and I need the space ideally. I don't really ride road bikes, and this is too small for me without some stem / bar modifications.

It is thought to be a 1952 Holdsworth Tornado. Extract from the Holdsworth dating thread on here; "I'd place this as a c.1952 Tornado with what I would think are modified continental Ekla lugs. Pretty much same as frame 16503 on Dave's data base, although yours has somewhat different treatment of fluted top eyes and pump pegs placed on left and towards rear of seat tube as shown in Tornado catalogue page pirated from Kilgariff"

Clearly not original components though, with a number of 'younger' parts.

Spec / Details

Frame / Fork - matching number 16571
Size - Seat tube 58 or 59cm, top tube 57cm (c-c)
Wheels - Steel rims, flip-flop rear hub with williers freewheel. 27.5".
Brakes - Weinmann Type 730
Bars - ITM Special
Stem- Sturmey Archer
Chainset - SR Sakae Silstar, 48t chainring
Bluemels mudguards, damaged

Condition

Frame has been hand painted (a long time ago!) and needs stripping for re-paint
Top tube has a number of small dents, and pitting visible (see photos)
Rims are rusty

Other than me taking it round the block in 2018, it hasn't been on the road since the early 80s (at least!)

I have a set of decent Aluminium Rims (weinmann) with Maillard Hubs (atom rear, flanged 'normandy' on front) which can go with the bike. A nice upgrade, i thought. I've got the axles / bearings / skewers - they were removed for re-building, but it hasn't happened.

Can take plenty more photos for anyone who is interested.

I am in Bolton, feel free to come and have a look at it.

Price - I was thinking £150 but open to discuss.

Thanks for reading!

If not for a small queue, I'd be v tempted! An excellent value start for a super project. Won't hang around too long I suspect.GLWS

Still available, happy to take an offer on it providing it's going to a good home.

I'm not in any rush, although the extra space would be nice as there's no space to swing a cat in the garage at the moment (one of my favourite things to do).

Bump

Still here. Photo's below are as of last night 11/07/22.

I'm keen for it to go as I'm slowly trying to organise the shed and make more space.
