'Alive' is better - at least they eat their way home.

Comparing the two situations i'd say it's better to be in a group (a new meaning to a group hug) than stuck to a rock to talk to

It's the bit where he has to pluck at the tendon like a guitar string that gets me, the rest of the gory bit wasn't too bad considering.

Would have been gutted if i'd paid to see it. Boring, padded out film, bloke came across as a bit of a cock. Nasty having to hacked his arm off with an aldi multitool special tho. Rock. Hard place.
Liked the scooby doo bit

Into the Wild is a great film. Get Involved

Absolutely loved that film, ruined it by reading the true story. Similar situ to the chap who was found dead up near Loch Rannoch recently, planned to 'live off the land' under estimated his environment and paid the price. :(

From what I have heard the guy was a bit of a cock at the time, I don't think they were trying to hide that.
Film was how I expected it to be, you knew before you went in you'd be staring at a guy in close up for the majority of the film, his psychological breakdown and over coming that was the point of the film.
Would have been pointless if they had him fall down the rock and just skipped to the point where he cut his arm off. Both the actor and director used the video footage as reference so I guess it is as close to the real situation as we are going to get.

.

I wondered how they were going to turn 127 hours of pain into an hour and a bit of entertaining viewing, the answer, they didn't

Amazing courage/mind over matter and awesome that he still climbs etc to a high standard.

But i found it boring, even more boring than the final of snooker that i was flicking to from time to time :D
