105 or Ultegra brakes on a 1990 Kona Cindercone

OK so I am creating a monster. So far only a 105 chainset and bottom bracket fitted in place of the Deore and an 11 tooth small rear cog on my cassette.

So I fitted a set of 700c wheels from a mates Trek road bike and they fit fine except the brakes are obviously not going to work. I notice a hole in the forks at the bottom of the steerer for for a reflector, can I fit a road type brake if I get the size of the hole right? I need to measure the distance from this hole to the center of the rim braking area as alot of brakes are different sizes......

At the back I am thinking I can drill a couple of holes to fit the brake to the tube in between the seat stays which I guess was for a mud guard or some thing...

Any one done this? Much point? Running slicks currently but want it a little quicker.........

you could but somewhere (and I cant find them) there are adaptors to bring the posts up

or discs

or back to 26", they will have a similar rolling diameter to 700c with the right tires

Use Canti/V's with adjustable pad heights - ie long arm tubular type.

Can't remember which ones suit now, but maybe Onza and Pauls Vs, and prolly some of the cheaper copies too.
Sure someone will come along and advise..

Those mavic adapters look interesting, they have them on CRC too. Does anyone have a good close up picture of some fitted? I have the feeling they'll look very untidy!

of course this transformation is a piece of cake should you try it on a modern MTB disc frame
