Hi folks,

I'm in dire need of some aluminium plate 12 mm or half inche thick, 100mm square.

This is for a tandem disc brake modification, and will be machined to spec.

I'm based in Scotland, but it would post easily enough.

cheers
TB

I've seen some on ebay recently although, as said, local engineering place would probably be your best bet.

Tenbikes, Mikee from Macretro might be able to help, he works in that field. Where in Scotland are you based?

My father owns a local engineering company as well as a metal sales company. If you live within Norfolk then you could collect. If not he could perhaps mail it to you, although I'm not certain if he likes doing that sort of stuff.

Edit: Just re-read. He'd have to mail it. But if you're still interested I'll have a word with him, or pass on his details.

Thanks for all that guys, really helpful.

I've checked out ebay (of all places) and have found ally bar at 4 and 5" diameter, just waiting for a quote for a 12mm cut.

I have contacted mikee; sounds like a useful man to know :) . I work in central Fife so it sounds like a match made .......on Retrobike!

All this for a Cannondale tandem that has 140mm rear axle so needs a spacer for discs. We tried taking the caliper in board but it was too flexi. Now going to try a spacer behind the rota. If this fails I'm going to sell the lot and start again with a completely modern frame and campatible hub / brake set up. And get a second job to afford it
