Ok Im getting a Salsa, frame.

Im not very offay with the newer sup forks on the market. Iv;e been told I can run 80 or 100 travel.

Iv'e just brought some XC Sids with 63-80mm travel at a bargin price.

But I'm wondering what else is out there. Obviously If I'm going to spend money I don't want to buy a really heavy fork.

I'm also on a limited budget for the fork, as there are other bits for the build I need to get.

I do have some dart as well, but have been told these are heavy.

Just some pointers please.

I have a Reba SL (which is still to be fitted  ) for my Salsa Ala Carte . I reckoned it suited the frame. Light but not noodley, can be run 80 or 100mm. I got it for just over £100 but I reckon that was on the cheaper side.

Kaiser had a look and they don't look 2 bad... Reba SL's.

wouldn't mind something with red dials and or decals, as the frame is black with red decals.

Any more suggestions please...

You can get them in red or black afaik, long story but the ones I bought were gold and I got the lowers powder coated to match the decal panel, anyway they blasted the insides and knackered the bushes, partly my fault but anyway I digress. I was going to fit rock shox rs-1 decals which you can get in any colour.

Beavis has stuck some 2009 Sids on his Marin Ti. They're white with red bits from memory. 80 or 100mm with disc and canti mounts. They ride very well and I was tempted to get some. Sure he'll send you a picture if you PM him. :D

Magura Ronin from '06/'07. They come in 85 or 110mm flavas, and have lots of knobs and buttons. My 110s weigh 1450gm and are pretty damn stiff. Not as stiff as modern Maguras, (but what is?) or as plush, but for a fast XC/race fork, they're spot on.
Also, they come in black. :D

did you buy that moto rapido off the bay by chance if so reba's in black mate or sid teams in black with red decals and nobs  the same as iv'e got on the iron horse they work bloody loverly

Thanks chaps, great answer's I'm sorry, I'm so in the dark on this but haven't really looked in to things like this since the 90's.

You've found me out Cannondale king, I did buy the Moto frame, just saw it and liked it.

I just hope the condition is good, as Iv'e sold a virtually new frame for it.

How much would one of those Magura's set me back?.

Quite fancy a Magura fork they look v-nice, Iv'e heard good things.

the magura's will set you back a pretty penny and half mate the sid teams you can get pretty cheap if you look around mate.

to be fair sids offer more adjustment to set to your needs

the magura's do have less to fiddle with though as there a pure race fork so if you dont like the settings your kinda stuck with it

i was tempted by it but just brough the iron horse for racing on but should you not like it pm me first with first refusal  :D

mmm so Sid Teams it is then!.

Guess I will have to fit everyone's favorite RS Dart, and try sell a few things... to raise funds ho hum.

:)
