mine is definitely a 1 1/8th. Did you measure internal diameter of fork or external????

so you just proved yourself wrong.
If your bike has a traditional threaded fork/headset, your stem will be sized to fit inside of the steerer. This sometimes causes confusion because the nominal size is based on the outside diameter of the steerer, but the diameter of the stem is 1/8" smaller to fit _inside_ the steerer. Thus, a normal 1 inch fork requires a stem of 7/8" (22.2 mm) diameter, while a 1 1/8" fork requires a stem 1 inch in diameter. Thus, depending on how you look at it, either of these stem sizes might be referred to as "1 inch." If your bike uses a threadless headset, there's less confusion, because the stem fits the outside of the steerer, just like the headset.

Well F🤬🤬k me , i stand corrected. I bow in front of the stem size king!! I took it for gospel that it is a 1" stem! Cheers friends. I hope to post the resto of the bike soon. All the best. Lyndon.

I might have a black Syncros 1" quill stem for you. It's NOS and 120 mm with 0 degrees rise.
Just drop me a PM and I can send you a picture......

Ah! The old 25.4mm = 1" confusion...

I cannot tell you how frustrated I became in trying to buy a Salsa stem from Stateside. One seller descibed his as a 1" stem. I asked him to confirm whether or not the the stem was for 1" forks or had a 1" quill. He replied 'It is a 1" stem'. Not helpful. I kept asking him to confirm the quill diameter - 22.2mm or 25.4mm. His reply each time was 'It is a 1" stem', like I was the one being obtuse. Needless to say I didn't buy the stem.
