I've not weighed it, but it's very light, so fairly certain it's prestige. Tubing has a lovely ping to it. As I said before, the majority of the kit that came on it is absolutely the same as a 91 Explosif, and the paint has been badly touched up on the top tube where there was cable rub but it otherwise looks like the factory paint (e.g. No overspray of a different colour inside BB or other tubes). The main decals look original, although the head badge has clearly gone at some point. If it has been resprayed, it was early in its life.
Loving the niche kona knowledge though, keep it coming!

I also have a 91 Kona Explosif, the Project 2's should be 1 1/8. No welded noodle, just a black plastic cable guide. Mine also has no indents in the chainstay and has welded on pannier rack mounts.
91 Kona's all had the plastic cable guide, I also own a 91 Lava Dome. The promo picture's where probably taken before the bike spec was finalised.

Am I right in thinking that the kona, "all bikes are available in black" policy applied before 91? Sounds like a 90 with a different paint job.

Wish I had taken one, it was in a real state. When it was taken in to Bob Jackson's I half expected them to say it was too far gone. They said it was fine though, just surface rust. I was pretty amazed at the transformation when I picked it up. Even inside the headtube and bottom bracket area where gleaming like new.
