    Peugeot Aravis 1988

I'm in America. Dunno if that affects anything. Bikes got patina so it's a rider or good candidate for a respray. Chrome is good for Italian chrome though.the size is 50ctc ST & 52ctc TT.

    Mystery Frame... Help!

Bikes are interesting sometimes. Sometimes builder's would use whatever they had on hand. I've had bikes with the previous years decals but the next years tubeset or lugs or seats stay attachment. So who knows??? Whenever you get it built up take some pictures and let us know how it rides. If...

    Mystery Frame... Help!

If it's 27.0 it would be a Columbus SPX frameset... 55cm would be around the frame size you would see a builder switch to the thicker and stiffer SP/SPX tubing. With 54cm and below being SL/SLX. Generally speaking... And you mostly see SLX repop frame sticker's and I could totally see someone...

    Mystery Frame... Help!

Since it's probably a Ishiwatta frameset, I'd look at Miyata bike's. Ishiwatta was Miyata's house brand of tubing. Maybe it's a 700 or 900 series from the mid 90's??? I believe it was 712 & 912 if I remember correctly. I'd be looking on the interwebs at dropout's and fork crown's on Miyata bikes...

    Mystery Frame... Help!

Helical ridges and 26.8 seat tube diameter??? That should be 27.2 diameter seat tubing if it's SLX. They never made SLX with anything other than 27.2 ST dia. And while rare to have a seat tube brazed upsidedown. A Columbus SL/SP ST brazed upsidedown gives you a 26.8 ST. Which does happen every...

    Wanted Campagnolo 8s friction shifter's

I'm looking for a set of the large barrel Campy 8 speed friction shifter's. These are the late version that's meant to shift across the 130 spaced hubs with a wider cassette body. I'd prefer to trade for something plus shipping both ways. I've got all sorts of stuff, dura ace 7400, all sorts of...

Help please... canti boss issue driving me insane

I'd like to find a Scott Addict in my size. I either find them in 57+cm or 50cm. Or they have been raced. Learned my lesson about raced frames earlier in my life and I don't do that anymore. Luckily that was a steel frame set... And I don't do eBay anymore for bicycle parts unless new in...

Help please... canti boss issue driving me insane

True, true. If you think about it though, at least in MTN bikes, disc's have been pretty prevalent since the late 90's-early 2000's. Technically that's vintage territory. It makes me feel old that what was bleeding tech in high school is now considered pedestrian. As an aside, I recently...

Help please... canti boss issue driving me insane

Cross season is almost here!!! Stoked you figured out the boss stays. It looks like it's working for you! Though that doesn't look very retro... 😂

    Peugeot Aravis 1988

I hope I didn't come across as saying that the bike is not a good bike. It's a nice bike but on websites like this you are kinda preaching to the choir and people that are already excited about vintage bikes. Things get over hyped (Suntour, most Campy, Modolo brakes, Regina chains and...

Wanted Chris King 1" crown race

Just a heads up, there are two different types of 1 inch crown's for king headset's. I wasn't aware of this when I ordered mine from King's website. They asked me to send a picture of the bearing. Mine's a early No-Logo version and apparently they used a different lower bearing to crown shape...

    Peugeot Aravis 1988

Even if it's ISO, I'd be surprised if it sold for $250. The vintage road market just isn't there. Between the people that lusted after road bikes in their youth aging out of actually riding bicycles and not just collecting immaculate condition bikes and the whole ecological nightmare electric...

    Mystery Frame... Help!

That looks like some interesting geometry. 55st-53tt??? Looks like criterium geo if so. I'd guess very late 80's to very early 90's. Id lean more towards the 90's because of the vertical dropout's. SLX (did you feel for the ridges in the seat tube and down tube?) was introduced around 1987 and...

    Peugeot Aravis 1988

I'm not sure how much it would be worth. It would probably be worth more as a bike for someone sentimental about their getting a bike they had in their youth or lusted after in their youth. The steel road bike market is really low right now for various reasons. Personally, I wouldn't pay much...

Pantani Film Full ~ Accidental death of a Cyclist *youtube

I came across this book awhile ago. Okay read with some cool photos, but a little too much fanboy'ing for me. While he may have been good as a young'n. By the time he was in the pro's he definitely seemed to be a rider of the EPO times. That's my two cents and you can't buy much these days with...

Went somewhere pretty sweet today... Pic heavy.

The guy has pretty much any nos small campy pre-brifter replacement part you can think of. Plus a lot that wasn't even out. I was pretty amazed at what was available. And on top of it the guy was way nice. Sometimes vintage shops can be pretty snooty or think everything is worth its weight in...

Went somewhere pretty sweet today... Pic heavy.

There was seriously too much drool worthy stuff to take pics of. Obscure french adjustable seatposts, all of the campy, so many nos rims, I'm pretty sure there was a Confente Masi there. I spent two hours there shooting the breeze with the owner and I just kept seeing more stuff!
