sounds almost like it wasnt set up right before you have put it on the bike. Take it off, reset all the cones and locking nuts and try again.....they aint complicated so it should be something simple....... ...it was built up when you got it wasnt it???

bendix ones were the simplest and best imo........used to put the bendix inners into suntour shells......sweet......

when you say the brake arm is jammed solid what exactly do you mean???? the arm shouldnt be able to move at all anyway......and when you say play do you mean like the cones are loose or the play before pedal take up???? and they are simple beasts inside...what is the make of the coaster brake?
