Yeah let us know of a ride report when you get it ready.

Frame id needed.. painted over Titanium? Team USA. Nice!

Probably one of the lightest TI MTB of the era? I wonder how it rides as the main tubes don’t look to be oversized.

Frame id needed.. painted over Titanium? Team USA. Nice!

I was about to say FRM as it has very similar tubing and cable routing. Beautiful frame nonetheless…

    Kona vs. Sunn

I came across this comment and just thought to write that I agree with this view too. Sunn built some truly amazing steel bikes with a selection of tubing that was very sophisticated like excel 0.7 - 0.5 -07 as you can see in their catalogues. But the quality of the welds are not there. Came...

1994 DB Axis TT Lite - Build Thread

Team Bikes in Aluminum. miss those days. Cannondale

I was racing this exact same bike in 54cm BITD. I found it way too stiff for my liking so it was tough riding up hill but you could definetely build a very light bike overall and was top for sprinting.

Can Alu frames ever feel like Steel frames?

Well it depends really. If you are talking about major mainstream brands then surely that's mostly the case. Otherwise, there are frame builders nowardays that are still using old stock tubesets from Reynolds, Columbus and Tange that make modern steel gravel or MTBs (29ers or 27.5ers) with...

Can Alu frames ever feel like Steel frames?

Nice convo and very interesting points so far. As already said, it's very hard to make a durable MTB frame in alu that is already flexible enough to be comfortable for long rides. I think alu frames are best when they are made for full suspensions or at least hardails with long travel front...

    Brodie Bunch

The Kinetic model specifically from 2002 it’s a very good one if you are looking for Brodies after the 1994 sale of the name.

Parts That Weigh a Ton, But You Still Love 'em

Still have mine with my Thorn MK2. I think if the frame is not made for them, it's hard to see the added benefits. Still though, I wouldn't change mine for anything. It removes or worries with derailleurs and maintenance.

Parts That Weigh a Ton, But You Still Love 'em

Been skidding on early 2000s rear Marathon tyre for the past 3+ years on the way to and from work and it has barely lost any thread. I just don't know what to say about these tyres. Not comfy for sure, but no other all road tyre in 26 comes close enough.

Is that a salvageable Yeti? Leigh on Sea / £25

hmmmm I would start by questioning whether this is actually a Yeti frame... It doesn't look to be. Not looking at the rear drop outs. Hope I am wrong as otherwise it would be a bargain of course!

The (un)official RetroBike trail of Fame.......

I would love to have a ride with Paul Brodie or Chris Chance. They both look such nice and down to earth people.

    Cherry Bicycles Cherry Bomb

great to read the inside story of his take on tubing selection. Thanks for sharing! I particularly like the chainstays in Cherrys. They are untappered for his MTBs and he did such a good job in integrating the drop outs in them. Really flawless work. Lovely lovely bikes and super rare. There...

Selling up and leaving the hobby - Your failure experiences?

After all that, I'm now accepting that this may be the time to focus more on less, rather than less on more. I am starting to realize this too. Would rather keep the ones I ride the most and focus on minor upgrades here and there than keep expanding and ending up with many nice bikes that I...
