Re: I used to use 8 spd Shamals with 8 spd 7400 and ultegra sti's with no problems whatsoever. In fact, shifting was improved for the ultegra sti's.

Re: Reading between the internet lines, the "Team Issue" was basically a Competitive Cyclist "special" that was a cross between the classic and Tuscany models. Age is probably late 90's- early 2000s.

All the ones I've seen have been generic aluminium frames similar to the Dolans etc from the early noughties. All came with a faux pinarello paintjob similar to this:

You'll find 7 8 9 systems are happy to interchange as the tolerences are quite big compared to 10 or 11 spd set ups. Just run shimanono cassette and hub on an otherwise campag gear system :-)

jon, those centaur ergo's are pants. As foz says, single release mechanism, shift paddles snap off with alarming regularity, and the mechanism isn't repairable, it's a complete housing.
