    1938-41 Schwinn New World Racer

Model W1R, with a one piece crank Model W3R with a three piece crank but still with 1/2 inch pedals instead of the 9/16. Some originals from the net. You could order this bike with different parts, to customize it from anything, including commuter, road or entry level track bike. I’ve seen...

    Costalotta birthday bike

I built this for my Son’s birthday. A project that became all consuming and expensive. It was a fixie and I bought it for the frame. The owner didn’t know what it was but I knew it was a Gloria frame. It was too messed up to ride. Dents, cracks bent. The fork tube was bent so I temporarily...

    1904? Miami cycle

Could be a 1904 model by looking at their catalog. Like mountain bikes now, early bicycle manufacturers promoted gimmicks and touted the gimmicks as the latest and best. Miami cycles gimmick was large chainrings, like this 1907 model. I got the bike about 10 years ago at Christmas time at a...

1938-1941 fillet brazed New World racer

Chicago Schwinn made the New World to compete with high quality English lightweight bicycles that were popular in the USA. They made racer models but scant information seems to be available. They made Superior and Paramount models that looked the same but used higher quality and lighter tubing...

    Early Italian tubing

I have an early Gloria. The stamped tubing mark reads EXTRASTAHLROHR TITANUS. There is scant info that I could find about this tubing on the net. It was considered very high quality seamless tubing in the 1920s. According to the net this tubing was a German patent but manufactured in Italy. The...

    Old rusty Somec frame repaint

The frame was sprayed in a homemade booth by my son. He is not as clumsy as his father. All rust was removed first and then 2K epoxy primer was applied. The finish is automotive grade custom mixed paint. Pearl white over candy apple red. Then automotive clear coat.

    Vintage tracker Frankenbike tribute build

I started on this bad idea today. It’s raining but warm so I could use my shop. The springer fork I‘m trying to use has cups that are too big for the frame and the head tube on the frame is way too short for my springer. I tacked on some head tube pieces I hacked off one of the frames in my...

A1955 Schwinn cantilever frame and fork that’s ready to be built up for town, country, gravel or trail. Phosphoric acid soak to remove rust and oxidize the paint To make it crumbly. After a few weeks in the acid. Sanded, wire brushed and the tight spots sand blasted with my homemade...

    New inch pitch chain

Found this on eBay. It’s the 4th new one I’ve found there over 5-6 years. It’s not a block chain but will serve as back up for inch pitch block chains on my vintage track bikes. Two were laminated block chains.

Commie frame Diamant track bike build.

I posted this before, but here it is again as I found more photo details about the build. It made me realize how frustrating this build was. I supposedly got this frame, fork, seat post, stem and bb from the Bulgarian Bicycle Museum, if there is even such a thing. The story I got is that the...

    1930s, 40s, 50s etc franken bike

I collected parts for 4 years to build this. A lot if scrounging. Original paint stripped. I welded on clips for a battery tube. Welded on new seat post clamp as the original was snapped off. Frame was considered a loss by the previous owner because of the missing seat tube clamp. I got it very...

    1940 Shelby wishbone

Kind of a rare frame. It’s a wishbone because the seat tube is positioned behind the seat stay junction. I was given this frame about 10 years ago where it had been in the rafters of an abandoned garage since 1960 when the owner died. It’s right near the top of my favorite bikes to ride. Long...

    Free Schwinn Paramount

My mail man is always delivering bike stuff here so he knows I’m into bikes. I live in the middle of the bush so our mailman is a contractor and a local guy. He told me there was a skinny tired bike with a for free sign on it hanging on a mailbox on the Buckhorn Road. I couldn’t go until the...

    1983 Ross Force One

I bought it from the original owner, who purchased it when he was 13. Made in Allentown Pennsylvania. I replaced the fork, with an original, as it was dented. I also replaced the chain, rear derailleur, cassette, cables and tires. The original tires were 1.90 so I went with 1.75 gum walls, like...

    Ross Force 1

I’m the second owner. The original owner bought it when he was 13. After he moved away it stayed in his parents finished basement.

    USA maggot cruiser.

I pick up this junk frame this weekend from a dying village. The iron mines closed in 1930. No one can sell a house there. There are a lot of junk piles and hoarders there. This came from a junk pile there. The only businesses are 4 pubs in a row that cater to snowmobiles. You can ride your sled...
