Yeah that was my plan also. See above ... Still no answer from ebay BTW (I filed a complaint)

    Brodie Mantis Replica

Re colour: Last year I had the chance to see this beauty with my own eyes (ex- Mombat): This does not have the sculptured fillets but I found the colour to be sublime.

    Brodie Mantis Replica

Very cool idea to get a replica made! I also really like that Mr Brodie is grown up enough to give credit to the collegues that inspired him to do what he did. Maybe I even heard a bit of admiration coming through?

ebay found a new way to screw with buyers

Exactly what happened to me last Sunday. The bidder I was against at had the chance to get 3 bids in until he finally had the highest bid, with me just watching on the sideline not being able to do anything. Quite frustrating to say the least. Should this be the norm going forward it makes ebay...

You mean like the Japanse auctions where the last bid extends bidding time another 5 Mins? I´d find that quite boring to be honest. I really like the poker-esque aspect. Get your bid in in the last seconds and see if it sticks.

ebay found a new way to screw with buyers

That´s what it seems like. Auction ended, highest bid for me. Then the new to me pop up message „We're determining the winner. Please refresh the page“ with the (not so) winning bid beneath instead of the "congrats you win blabla". In the next minute I watch the "winning bid" in the pop up...

Also quite poor to change the rules of the game without letting the players know 🤬 But thanks guys for letting me know, did not find anything on their page yesterday. Rage induced blindness I guess.

ebay found a new way to screw with buyers

Trading cards  Pretty sure I wasn´t bidding on these. Yeah just like @bobby-gg said. I get that using snipe bidding programs can ruin the fun also, but I always did it "manually". Cheap (or not) adrenaline rush for me. I blame the ones with slow internet connections, sore losers 🤣 They...

ebay found a new way to screw with buyers

Hey guys, here´s a little rant just to get it out of my system and to get to know if something like this happened to one of you also. So I was watching a nice Orange Stage Evo frame on ebay UK the whole week as my SC Superlight is now getting a bit long in the tooth (I really like me a single...

No rhyme no reason just 1 Retrobike pic per post.

»Designed in California« brings »Made in California« back to ... California. Well the first 1/2 mile at least.

    The Rumpfy Collection. Current Muses

With such an exquisite range of past bikes and maybe Slingshots/ Raleigh Tomacs being the only constant, that would indeed be quite interesting to know.

    HG70 vs HG90 cassettes

Bolts can be changed, as well as lockrings, so these are mere indicators. I´ve had HG90s with hex and allen bolts. IMHO the only surefire way to differentiate is the surface treatment of the sprockets. Shiny chrome=HG90, not quite so shiny but still shiny=HG70.

That looks like it´s in superb condition, especially as the paint on these is usually a bit delicate.

    1985 Rocky Mountain “Avalanche”

Palm Springs, so no rust, and as it has no sunburn it probably lived inside most of the time :) So what did "the youths" say when you pulled a backflip on this at Crankworx😆

    1983 Ritchey TimberComp

Wow that´s in incredible shape and would be well deserving of a bullmoose. But oof 800 quid for the TR one 😵‍💫 And I think you´d have to have a stub brazed into the steerer of the fork to make it fit?

    1989 Specialized Stumpjumper Epic

Superb result, I really like how understated it is. At first glance "just" another SJ Comp, but a nice surpise for those who care to look closer. Just wait when you ride it a bit more, it really reminds me of a Yo Eddy handling wise. I mean it should be no surprise as the geo is very similar...

    1989 Specialized Stumpjumper Epic

Apparently these frames were super expensive to manufacture. The lugs ware made in Japan, then shipped to the US where it was glued/assembled and I guess it was too late in the development to switch to cantis for the 1989 MY. Interesting that in the catalogue the 1990 Epic still is pictured with...

    1987 Fat Chance

I can´t see the pics in the link, but from that one picture above the components all look fairly original, or at least PC? Stem looks like a Salsa, bars like OG Fat Chance, XC pedals, Grab Ons, Magura levers etc. I think the seller is closer to a realistic price than 150-200.

    Kona Joe murray kilauea

@Spanky22b Please take no offence, but I´m afraid you have to take off your rose coloured glasses. I see some serious rust on frame and components. What good is the rare colour and components if it needs a respray and the kit it rusted to hell? Without assessing it locally I guess this would...
