In building a couple of wheelsets, I’ve noticed the different online spoke calculators have their pros and cons/goods and gaps; would be good to have a sticky with a list of links and which iones have data on which popular retro gear.

    Suntour XC Pro pedals

They look so cool, are light and are built nicely. I have a disorder where I buy them, realise they are not double sided and are quite thick; keep them in a drawer for a year and sell them for what I paid. Keeps me off the streets …. How much for yours? (Xc compe double sided are the real deal)

Wanted Older, 26" wheel, steel frame for the taller gent.....

Genuine question: why has it got be a 26” wheeler? Would a relaxed angle 700c tourer frame with canti mounts not be an option? Loads of good fat 700 tyres around these days and lots of old skool quality lugged steel frames going cheap.

    Away from the dark side.....

Suntour derailleurs showed the way - still some of the best ever cycling engineering; and their ratchet friction shifters are a joy to use and mechanic. But the real step change happened when shimano focused on cassettes. My first bike (1988) had uniglide, which now languishes in the...

    One bike!? What is it?

I’ve got it down to about 6 bikes now, 4 of which are prolly ‘needed’ fast road bike, tourer, bike transport and MTB. “The one” keeper would be bike transport. Got it dialled how I need it after lots of trial and error.
