I am the third custodian of this frameset. There's a bit of story behind, with the original owner at some point called back the second owner asking him to contact me in case I wanted to sell it back. I have a single Lh bar-end Record lever, friction and with the black rubber cap. NOS.

You could try and replace that part only, but there will be wear also in the tooth that engages the ratchet-ring (you call it "cable spool"), and this is pinned in the shifter body and not exactly replaceable. It is easy to spot by making a close-up picture: that tooth has to be nicely "pointy"...

I have a Cinelli The Next Machine that has a lug where the elevated chainstays go in the seat-tube. Does that count? :mrgreen:

Re: It's not fitting well: see the gap you have between the hub body and the freehub, the rubber seal is exposed too. If you build the wheel with the hub like that, it's likely to be over its former 130mm OLD width, which means the wheel ends up with a massive difference in spoke tension...

That's a Record Ti hub and compatible only with its own Ti cassettes, the spline pattern is different from other Campag cassettes. And the axle is different, too, so you won't be able to fit another freehub unless you go for some mods. Good luck! If you can read italian, I wrote those articles...

Thanks for Philip Wiliamson: Btw, I can fit (just about) an 800gr load of bread in a Junior bag. If I was to have only one bag, I'd use the Pendle. The Barley is ok only for the essentials on a single day ride, but not for any shopping.

Night to day difference. Don't think I'd ever use my Junior or Nelson LF without the SQR mount.

As said above, unless you have the ones where the Lh crank has a reverse thread (or a 2nd gen. S.R. titanium BB), all the others have the standard crank bolt size M8x1.0 Rh thread.

The g-springs fit only in one way. The only way you can do wrong, is to install the Rh ones into a Lh shifter (and the other way round) or to fit upside-down the correct springs for the given side of the shifter. In both cases the shifter won't work at all, because you'll have the "tip" of the...
