To me it looks like original paint having recently spent a long time studying Dekerf paint and decals. It needs to be rescued for sure.

Which bike are we referring to? 91-96 frames were identical so doesn’t really matter which decals. It was the spec which made a LE true 97-99 had a different frame. The 98 I linked is a LE

Im still hunting a 98LE in that colour decals. I had one new in 98 which started the Zaskar obsession. Ideally a 18 but I’d now take a 16. Had a few over the years but none were perfect.

That happens when people use spacers when they don’t need them. Thus making the BB wider and the axle narrower.

Yes otherwise the splines don’t locate properly and it damages the crank splines
