Bianchi Specialissima X4 just finished. Columbus TSX rechromed and painted. C Record century finish group. Selle Italia Campionissimo (Coppi) saddle. Bars were leather wrapped by Kontour.cc in Belgium. Been for a couple of rides already and It's coming with me to Giaole in October (hopefully)

Re: At the end of the day, Raleigh hasn’t put anyone’s arm up their back. It’s expensive yes and there aren’t many top end 70s/80s frames that £1500 won’t buy.

The Specialissima X4 is about as good as it gets IMHO. I’m not expecting greatness

I’ve not yet ridden it. It needs a gear cable and a dry day. I’m happy with how it went together. I will give it a go but will probably pass it on at a loss

Re: I'll have another go. I bought one as a frame just to be nosy really - not really with an intention to hang on to it. Like many of us, the red black and yellow evokes nostalgic warmth but, lets face it, there are loads of other frames out there which make even the original SBDU frames look...

Just that I have mostly Bianchi's and a new Specialissima X4 Argentin dropped into my lap last week - too many bikes and not enough hooks. - nothing more sinister than that
