Road focussed bike around an mtb frame

Re: I have made 2 of these projects, both turned out great. My misses rides a Commencal supernormal 26" frame with 700c x 38 and a rigid touring fork and drop bars. Easy conversion because the rear triangle does not have a brace. I ride a 91 cro-mega with 650b x 40 with more than enough...

Mavic MA2's - a struggle to get tyres on.

The set I have are not the easiest when it comes to mounting tires but certainly not lever breaking. Is it steel bead tyres? They might be a little harder than folding. I used them with 3 different tires and I allways mount them without levers. Wear safety glasses 8)

    Removing brazed parts.

You don't have to get the metal red hot, certainly not the tubing. Aim the torch at the metal ring till it starts colouring, and as soon as therevs movement try and pull it of. As said, the leftover brass is pretty easy to remove as it is much softer than steel.

    Removing brazed parts.

Re: Heat gun, gas one not the electrical stuf for paint, is the fastest and easiest to clean. It's nothing hard to do, apply heat and pull it with plyers every now and then. If you feel movement pull it off. Then you only need to remove some brass, works faster than dremel the whole thing off.

Not everyone likes red Christmas ball bikes with plastic wheels, although I can imagine others will and it is certainly a classic and a nice build. It will not have my vote, money isn't everything and tastes differ. Please enter more bikes regardles of cost.

    Veganism

My wife eats vegan and I'm vegetarian. So most of the cooked meals are vegan, just because it is more simple to only cook one meal. I do 99% of the cooking and I had to get used to it, but you learn as you go. Before she went vegan we allways had a few different cheeses in the fridge, now maybe...

Bit of info needed on powder coating and possible removal...

Re: I believe with the right preparation you could actually use acrylic base paint over powder coat. For removal I used gasket remover on a crankset, worked very good. Works even better if you lightly sand the coat with 80grid sandpaper before applying.
