They were on very early Evans/Saracen, I believe. The brothers were the Stanforths and they screwed the brand sideways. Ruined it. Oddly, one of their sons is now churning out this stuff; Which looks to me like someone is trying to pre-empt the hipsters moving from fixies to MTB!

The combination of the wishbone and that fork has always been of my faves from the Saracen back catalogue. That green was stunning as well, BITD, simply stunning.

In this case, it was intended to replicate the saddle on a MX bike, allowing the rider to slide fore and aft to move weight around.

I have one of similar vintage. It's superb to ride to this day! Sadly underused, though. Pondering selling it. :-(

When Oakley released the original X-Metal Romeos, I was offered a pair (I was a major Oakley retailer at the time). I was also informed that they weren't going to remain that exclusive for that long. So I declined. Shame, as I wish I had a pair now!
