I don't get why some people don't get ebikes.

What I don´t understand is why e-bikers need approbation. I don´t care if you like e-bikes. I don´t and I don´t need to understand why you prefer that over this. I don´t need a dictator to tell me what I have to like or do or not. You like it, perfect, enjoy it 👍 :)

    Tektro - any good?

Nothing wrong but the quality of the trialign was much better, these are not as nice as that. But they are ok. Tri aligh front brakes has longer arms, they were near V brakes all are CNC, much nicer brake pad hanger etc. The were powerfull but a pain to dial properly.

What Retrobike "feature" do you avoid when looking for bikes?

E stays was not only for chain suck, but imagine a E stay and a RD with cluck ... and Imagine a fast tire, not "that thing" of geax "soguarro" and go fast over a rock trail ... jumping , cornering ... It is silent. Yes, the white tire , I don´t have it any more. It was good in my mind but not in...

What Retrobike "feature" do you avoid when looking for bikes?

Carbon fibre, I´m so saturated about that thing ... they have so many internal imperfections that I started to hate it. Cool exterior, bad interior. I love E stays, because my ETSX is and it was before modern RD, so no noise and looks quite good. Dedicated to that E-stays haters with 😘...

    Thomson

Aluminium component last a lot (we have 30+ year old components and works all fine), so it is not fatigue or something, perhaps the alloy. I have 3 components and all works fine. But my stems are 50mm and the seat post is the Masterpiece, perhaps diferent alloy.

Fast Rock (& roll) around 1995. Turn to Sunn with Tox ... Cough ...cough!!🤧 to a Yo Eddy and this is the end of retro and bicycle CV.

Whell, for me it is the end of retro stuff ... it is so nice. This will never disapoint me. Looks like the bicycle I have ever wanted. This was in my dreams in the 90s, 00s and now. I like how it looks but rides as it looks, that was the problem with retro stuff. I like to built a nice bicycle...

    Donor bikes in 2024

TOday there are many standarts and the industry is trying to do a harakiri to himself. If you buy a 2022 bicycle to be a donnor of a 2024 frame probaly the RD will not fit because now they use a diferent system, the BB the same, many press fit, 68mm etc cranks boost or not, wheels boost or...

What mountain bikes did you own BITD?

My progresion was different, in the 80´s I was young and had no enough money so my dream bicycles didn´t come. Marin, Kona, GT, Merlin, Rocky Mountain, Clark Kent, Voo doo (Kanzo), Alkon, Megamo (Radical), and so on. So my bicycles were: Celta 1989 to 1996 sold despite it was trashed...

Biscuits or bananas / up or down / shimano or sram

I always use shimano, some times with Sram Attack shifters, other with grip shift but since dual release, always simano and that is why in one of my last creations I went Sram with the XX1 eagle 12 speed. The first I notice is that I like and miss a lot the dual release shifter. And how cheap...

    Lower your nose?

For XC, or normal MTB where you climb and go down and do what ever it comes to you in your rute, I have find that the best if you like to ride a bit fast is 1,5cm lower the handlebar than the saddle. Well, really it was acording with Fat chance sugestion about what I like to do and what the...

Retro MTB that can perform today

You need something fast and light weight and you can keep up with the new Stuff. If you whant something of the 90´s the Element Team Only is a good start, but not with a Bomber, but with a SID like mine. This was mine: A Elemnt TO with a SID team, XT etc. It was 9,8 Kg and has not spececially...
