Shimano downtube shifter spacer - curved/concave type

Looking for 1x spacer for shimano downtube shifters - needed for dura ace 7700 shifter, but anything that matches the photo below should do I've found the part number to be Y-643 38101, but you can't buy it from a dealer, and afaik shimano aren't very helpful with spares. If anyone has one...

replacement freehub for ultegra 6500 rear hub?

The freehub on my Ultegra 6500 rear hub is completely worn out. Am I right in thinking that a 6700 10 speed freehub will be a suitable replacement? As I understand, a 9 speed cassette will work on a 10 speed hub by simply omitting the spacer, but will the freehub be compatible with hub? Thanks...

    Dura-Ace 7700 crank extractor

Anyone know if it's possible to replace the self-extracting bolts on a Dura-Ace 7700 crank? It looks as though the whole unit would come out, but I haven't seen a replacement part anywhere. Cheers, Alex

    Dura-Ace 7700 drivetrain click

For over 3 months now I've had a click in my drivetrain, which I thought I had narrowed down to a bad bottom bracket, but after trying 3 different bb's (2 105, 1 Ultegra), the click has been consistent, so I don't know now. It clicks consistently through all sprockets and chainrings, and seems...

    Shimano Octalink bottom bracket maintenance

I've got an Ultegra 6500 Octalink bottom bracket that I'd like to do some maintenance on, just not sure if it's actually possible. I know that the Dura-Ace 7700 Octalink can be taken apart for re-greasing etc. but it seems to be completely different to all the rest. Any help would be much...

    drivetrain clicking

My dura ace 9 speed has recently developed a sort of clicking sound somewhere on the drivetrain. Only occurs when I'm on the bike and applying power. It there's through all the rear gears, and on both chainrings, so I'm thinking that the bottom bracket might be knackered, or perhaps the pedal...

Nitto technomic 100mm & DT Swiss competition

Nitto Technomic 100mm stem - the shorter version w/ 26.0mm clamp Selling it as it's too long for my bar/ frame combination. As few almost non-existent marks + a mark on the underside of the clamp. There's a line just above the max height marker - it was never inserted past that mark. £20 -...

Partial 105 Golden Arrow group - Crankset, 170mm, 52-42, shows a fair amount of use, anodizing has rubbed off in places, some dings etc. Teeth look fairly worn but are perfectly useable. Checking a rim (just the rim) for trueness.

What would be the best way to check a rim for trueness? Talking about just the rim here, no spokes, nipples, hubs, nada I would assume putting it down on a flat surface and simply seeing if there are any raised bits or whatever would be a fairly good indication? Furthermore, once said...

Uk riders: Front brake - left or right lever?

I find myself signalling for a right turn way more often than a left, and at the same time, would like to be able to use my front brake. On my current project, I'll be using downtube shifters, and I can imagine it would be good to use my front brake while shifting through the rear cassette...

A bunch of stuff I don't need, but you do

Had bought all of this stuff with the intention of using it on a particular frame, but now have given up on it for a better (and cheaper) frame, so all of this stuff is no longer needed. Pickup from Brighton, or can post at your cost. Tektro brakes pair, standard reach, no pads, fairly tatty...

    Steel frame

Looking for a lugged steel frame, size 58-60cm + forks Derailleur hanger would be good, and downtube shifter braze ons would be a bonus but not essential Minimal rust would also be great could go up to £200, but would be looking ideally for something around £100-150 Cheers! Alex

    Alternative to gatorskins?

Was considering some ultra gatorskins for my build, but they seem to have a bad rep for not being as puncture resistant as they make out. On top of that, I have ultra sports on my current bike, and would like more cornering grip. As far as I can tell the cheapo ultra sports and the gatorskins...

    crank arms not aligned

Got myself a really nice shimano 600 crankset, but upon putting it onto the spindle, I noticed that the arms aren't exactly 180 from each other. Is this a usual occurrence? And is there anything that can be done? Cheers Alex

Rust removal protection & paint touch ups

I've realised now that refinishing this frame would be both a waste of time and money - it was always going to be a beater. Anyways, I wanna get rid of a few little bits of surface rust, and probably treat the inside of the tubes somehow as well, before going over the exposed steel to stop any...

Stove enamel/ powder coating in Brighton/ Hove

So it would seem spraying the frame myself is going to be a massive pain in the arse. Anyone in/ around Brighton/ Hove area know of anywhere that could stove enamel or powder coat a steel frame? Stove enamel is preferred. Would I be right to think that powder coating looks fairly matt and...

    Columbus SL steel forks

I bought these and stupidly didn't consider the steerer tube length - too short for my 59cm frame, but if you have a smaller frame with a shorter head tube, these would be perfect! Steerer tube is approx 162mm, with just over 1 inch of thread. Made by Roberts from Columbus SL steel, really...
