Love this; are you moving with it or will you leave it there and visit? (Lucky friend!).

VTT français? French MTBs / Components / Info / Pics etc.

If you’re digging on French goodies, watch out for some of the early MBKs. I had this 1987 (sadly too small) which had great tubing and was beautifully constructed: internally brazed and nice details. Very different from the gussetty welded later ones that often pop up.

For Sale Overbury’s (Andy Powell) custom fast tourer frameset for renovation. 600ex headset.

So, ‘medium’ to ‘tight’ I’d say: build it as a roadie not a gravel rig. Pics are with the rear in the middle of the dropout slots. 23mm tyres. Brake drop is c. 45 at the back, 50 at the front (middle of the hole to middle of the braking track, by eye with a metal ruler). Oh, and a 130mm hub...

What's happened to all the "stuff"

The more old bike pumps you have, the less time you have left ….. 😬 (Runs off to bin some in an attempt to add a few more years…)

Sorted Lightweight, ‘flat’ reach drop bars, 25.4mm: 3ttt, etc

Thanks both - those Nitto 151s are a great shape but I think only 26.0. There are some super light 3ttt ones out there but at silly money - am going to man up and get the Noodles.

What's happened to all the "stuff"

Agree. So that’s not a problem or a solution to keeping the hobby alive. Most of it happens off this site or by DM. So, is what we need fluidity in mid range/practical stuff? Maybe. If so, how best to help that? Get people who need mid range/practical stuff (newbies or folk building gravel /...

What's happened to all the "stuff"

I wonder if there is a counterpoint to this: “The market” can be split into stuff that is hard to find and/or in fine condition, and other stuff that isn’t worth much but might be useful to someone for something. The number of people chasing items from either category is smaller than it has...

So what do you think about this 3iAtlas comet behaving weirdly in our Solar System?

Trouble with wormholes as a means of interstellar travel, you need to know where you’re trying to get to. If you want to visit an interesting M class blue planet on the middle edge of the Milky Way, you need to know it’s there first. Although TBF, we’ve been broadcasting at light speed for the...

For Sale Overbury’s (Andy Powell) custom fast tourer frameset for renovation. 600ex headset.

It is cool: if I was a bit handier I’d like to make a metal version and paint it. (I guess you’d have to make a wax former than cast it. Or maybe draw it, 3d print and then use that like the wax to make a mould?)

Sorted Lightweight, ‘flat’ reach drop bars, 25.4mm: 3ttt, etc

Thanks for replying: I think those are anatomical, aero bars? I’m after something a bit older. (In fact I’ll prolly take a small hit on weight and go with a Nitto noodle.)

For Sale Overbury’s (Andy Powell) custom fast tourer frameset for renovation. 600ex headset.

Will offer this here before the bay. It’s an Overbury’s touring frame set in seen-better-days-but-sound-and-ready-for-refurb condition. A lot of surface rust, but having rubbed back the worst bits, it seems very surface. 531c. 58cm Seat tube and 56cm top. 128mm rear. Cinelli BB shell, with no...

So what do you think about this 3iAtlas comet behaving weirdly in our Solar System?

Yeah it would take fast spaceships thousands of years to fly between stars, and you can’t accelerate mass to the sort of speeds needed to do it quickly. And even if travelling lifeforms were very stable and patient with craft and robots immune to breaking down, the rest of the universe wouldn’t...

Late 80's very early 90's grips choice

My 88 Stumpjumper had fattish foam grips that I got used to and then loved. OG Grabons are getting hard to find, but try searching for ‘high density’ foam: they seem to be pretty close to BITD I don’t hate these: Grips
