What suitable tyres on mavic monthlery pro rims

If just for show then no glue needed. If you are riding then Tufo tape, two pencils and you tube :).

What suitable tyres on mavic monthlery pro rims

By tubeless I guess you mean tubular (tubs) From that era I guess you are after tan wall ? Cheap and cheerful Victoria Rallye might fit the bill.

    Unusual downtube bosses

Yep, bar end shifters. Sometimes the rear mech cable ran across the top tube and down the seat stay to keep It out of the mud. Often just single chainring up front with guards either side of the ring to keep the chain from bouncing off Edit. The LFGSS ad you bought it from has two single...

    Raleigh Europa

Carlton numbering 1968 to 1973 went a bit pants. I wonder if old stock frames ready built went Raleigh’s way for an early Europa. Falcon made some back door frames for Raleigh too when they were short, with the wrap round seat stays.

    Raleigh Europa

Early team Raleigh colours had a yellow head tube, included uk models. As mentioned the number may be under the seat cluster. Might start with a W as Raleigh nicked Carlton frames, usually to kick start production.

Help using nkilgariff to identify Claud Butler frame model (number and pictures in thread)

Have a look at the last couple of posts on the thread to see how nice a powder coat can look nowadays with wet paint jobs being quite spendy https://www.lfgss.com/conversations/135850/?offset=2025#comment17909195

    Robins bikes?

Early 70’s would have over bb cable guides with the stop on the top of the chain stay. All the kit could be from any era

    Robins bikes?

bit of a mix of ages.......... The fame design is 80's (ish) but the lugs hark back to an earlier period. By the time this frame was made most lugs were plain. I wonder if the R stands for something else. Roberts?

Would a 1931 frame have a head clip headset, bolted on seat stays and all that ?

Carlton Kermesse 24" reynolds 501 (Northampton)

Nice, a later one with oversized seat stay caps. The earlier ones were in the classic Carlton lagoon blue Thank goodness they kept the all chrome forks with sloping crown :)

    Ofmega Sintesi Pedals refurb pics

Ofmega did other “plastic” components, the Mistral rear mech is the one that springs to mind, mainly as they did a pink one :).

What's going on with this derailleur-crank combo? They interfere

Front mech looks too wide, my old narrow front mechs from the 80’s would do the job though Afaik more modern front mechs for compact chain sets and a wide 10 + speed cassette at the back might not be compatible with your chainset ?

    Screw on freewheel question

Back in my day which is the 70’s the internals of each freewheel were unique to each manufacturer. If the slots for the remover were damaged we would take it apart and use a vice to remove the body from the hub. Then throw away what was left unless the sprockets themselves were of use on an...

Campagnolo retro Saracen picked up for £5

There was a Haden lug that looked a bit like Crespera. Carlton did indeed flog off old stock when they closed, the odd frame does pitch up with them from time to time.
