Yeah, from my experience all dimensions are exactly the same so they're interchangeable.

I like these, they're a big improvement over standard ones with the weight saving and extra damping of the Ti. Easily converted to threadless too, if you can find a donor Flexstem.

Cool. I'm a big fan of Ti forks although the ride quality can vary a lot. My GT Edge Ti came with some and they were surprisingly stiff (and heavy). A Record Ti seat post would be nice. There's a NOS one here (27.2), labelled Chorus but they're identical I believe...

I wasn't knocking the Argos quality Nob, they clearly do a fantastic job and are really conscientious about their work. But I've been told by a few people that it can chip quite easily so isn't the best for an MTB. This cant be said of the several Mercian's I know from the 90s with apparently...

To be fair, I suspect Mercian were undercharging in the past. If they've retained the same standard then their resprays are superb quality and a lot more durable than comparatively priced Argos, from what I've heard. Still hard to reconcile the prices though.

I always intended to get them to do a couple of frames from when I lived in Derby but never got round to it. Back in the mid-late 90s it was £40 + VAT for flamboyant ruby red! They were comparatively cheap then considering the quality.

Respray prices are insane now. Frame and forks in flamboyant or Italian pearl: £325. Fit makers transfers (transfers extra): £100!!! :oops:
