Raleigh Road Ace 12 Frame and forks

Quick ride around my estate and the Road Ace rides very well, changes direction quickly. Changes gears great, slight noise from rear mech, looks like the cage is slightly out of line. I may need wider handle bars at some point. Blue outer cable for the rear mech needed, no rush yet as its...

    Ofmega Sintesi Pedals refurb pics

I like the Mistral set, a bit too expensive for now. The offset chainset is a work of art, have I described that correctly? I may start collecting the parts to build a set up over the next year I was a bit dubious about the rear mech being plastic - has a good write up on DG'S site. The mech...

Raleigh Road Ace 12 Frame and forks

Pedals are refurbed/regreased and reassembled on the bike. Shortened my Shimano chain and did not ruin it - I did think I would cut it too short to be honest, speed link fitted - hey these are a revelation :) I have rigged up the front and rear derailleurs. Both Derailleurs work great, all gears...

    Ofmega Sintesi Pedals refurb pics

Here are some pics of my newly purchased Ofmega Sintesi pedals. I checked Velobase to check when these were made and if they where re buildable. They were made mid eighties onwards so period for my Road Ace 12. There is an Allen key grub screwed into the end cap, screw this in and the cap pops...

Raleigh Road Ace 12 Frame and forks

Raleigh Road Ace 12 Update. I have bought a pair of wheels, MA40 Mavic rims with Campagnolo 1984 - 87 ish hubs, Chorus/Victory/Triumph apparently there is a blurred line with these hubs, spokes will clean up great - what a bargain. Cheap tyres I had in the garage fitted - plenty of tread on...

Hi all, Anyone know what year this Clements touring bicycle would be, nice wrap over rear stays, nice frame lugs. Pinstriping still good, paint looks OK, paint detail on lugs looks good. My fathers Ernie Clements SuperPro bought back from the dead

I have been researching a Clements bike for sale on marketplace, its a Clements with decals like this one but frame is white. Your Ice Blue one brought back memories of my one exactly like yours, I bought it as a frame set and used parts from my BSA Prima - I think? Anways it was a lovely frame...

Raleigh Road Ace 12 Frame and forks

Hello all, browsing again to see how good or bad a 1983 Raleigh Rapide 12 was specced, nice frame but components not so good. So I noticed the 1983 Road Ace has 'normal' rear stays, in 1984 it went fastback. 1983 Frame 1984 Frame

Raleigh Road Ace 12 Frame and forks

I was just having a browse about on Raleigh and Carlton lightweights from 75 to 85, I do remember the pro frames had fastback stays that were blended into the seat post bracket' - is that the correct terminology? and yes they did! Anyways back to my Road Ace frame, I did not realise this is a...
