    Painting a couple of frames

PMC in Long Eaton did my CRM250 frame a couple of years ago and it came out really nice. Blasted it too. Only downside to powder coating is you've still got a decades-old frame corroding away inside it and you won't have any idea until it breaks.

How do you carry spare disk brake pads?

Put them in a moneybag and shove up inside the steerer? Above the front of the seat rails with a few layers of electrical tape?(useful in itself) Inside the stem, if the front of it comes off to move the bars out of the way? Seat tube? Tape to the rear of the bottle cage?

    Chris king headset

8 years on here and I've never seen or heard this, just accepted that some are tighter than others and that's that. That groove must be shallow though? I wouldn't want to put a CK cup in my lathe and mess it up. I do have a Chris King, but in a Soul 😊

    Chris king headset

I've never heard this, is this a thing people do? In such an application I'd simply find something that fits and do it right. Or you could end up with; Ruined frame Ruined headset Ruined face/teeth/hands etc Or a combination of any of those.

Selling up and leaving the hobby - Your failure experiences?

I reached the top when I finished my Lightning a few months ago. At that point I had 10 or so other frames I wanted to build, piles of forks, wheels etc, all waiting, constantly looking for bits or bikes to get the bits for them. I finished the GT after amassing the parts for almost 10 years. I...

Could you just shove a seat post down it? Push in, tap, twist, repeat.

How to shine up old anodized aluminum?

Don't use steel wool, that's for sure. You impregnate the softer aluminium with fine particles of steel which causes corrosion or something, and the info you found is correct - don't do it. Autosol polish is good, but if you want the alu to shine you do need to remove the existing finish to get...

Great news. Ebay drops seller charges!

I've got a pair of wheels currently listed and eBay only offer the small or medium parcel option, so I'll have to circumnavigate that.

Seized screw in GT 2x4 forks, advice requested.

Just leave it and move on😉 Drilling a hard metal out of a soft one is extremely difficult, especially at that diameter. This can only end badly.

    Repro “Onza Porc” white tyres

13 bucks per pair. Or £10. No real profit to be made for a willing U.K. middleman then I suppose.
