    Borked Fork from Fifty-Four :(

Well, was all set to give the Rotrax a shakedown wobbleCycle and prior to, checking I’d done all the nuts and bolts up properly… swing a leg over the top tube. Hmm. Stem’s out of line. Step off, loosen the bolt, shimmy thing around. Hang on. Somethings not right. Is the wheel buckled? Umm, not...

    Wanted 1950’s drivetrain-n-wheelset

How about the single wire cyclo, fits on the axle, and then either the charming toptube lever, or the nicer little barend number If you could find some in good condition, I'm sure they'd hold their value and you could sell that campy stuff to pay for it.

    Rotrax, Shirley (surely?)

Very nice - and I agree with your non-concours thinking. My son-in-law has a Rotrax in bits in his garage, recovered from a skip a few years ago by his sister, I keep asking him if he wants me to help rebuild it but he's got too much going on at the moment.

Unidentified frame - just found out it's a Rotrax

...with various combinations and see which works best, but good 26" tyres are few and far between. One interesting feature on this frame is the pump pegs fitted to the front of the seat tube - I've not managed to find another Rotrax with that feature but then I've not managed to find another...

Any "Allin of Croydon" specialists out there??

Thank you for sharing this frame number information. Hope you don’t mind I have copied to my post about an Allin I have just bought (and a link to this). I am trying to keep all the information I can find in one place. https://www.retrobike.co.uk/threads/allin-stan-butler.490612/page-2

    Expensive, possibly optimistic, but lovely.

I remember your Carlton, gorgeous. I lusted after a couple of your fixed wheels. Mercian and Rotrax spring to mind

Rotrax 1950s. Rotrax built fine bikes, I have had two and they were superb.

    Wanted 1950’s drivetrain-n-wheelset

The chainset and bb, yes please! PM me your PayPal if that works. There’s no braze-on’s anywhere, so I think I might end up going Campagnolo Gran Sport and a single band on shifter. Won’t be period but having done this on the Rotrax (‘53) it looks good and works lol

Unidentified frame - just found out it's a Rotrax

Nice pictures, thanks for posting. I'm new to Rotrax and only know what's out there on the interweb - but it's always nice to learn about other makes, particularly when they are well thought of and quality brands. This frame of mine is a strange geometry (to what I would call normal), it's 23"...

    Rotrax, Shirley (surely?)

Cheers! Perhaps you could ‘borrow it’, just to take some pictures or something, then accidentally build it up ;) This one, given it’s unspoiled with the remains of lovely lining, seems a bit wrong to repaint it. It’s only original once, as someone once told me.

My 1977 Rotrax with original bill of sale

Dear All, Here are some pictures of my 1977 Rotrax with original bill of sale. I bought this from the (sadly deceased) owners wife. This bike needs total restoration that it will get in the future. Not to keen on the 1970s components, shall I go earlier or later? Comments please.

    Viking ?

Hi - yes I was at the Rotrax event as a few pals own a Rotrax or three! About the forks the person I purchased the bike from suggested they were not original.

He had a Rotrax built for him and went off touring, on the continent, rode a few alpine passes and used a derailleur. It is odd. We made alot of other parts like the...

    Viking ?

Very interesting bike, what makes you think that the fork is not original? Did you bring your Viking Pro to meet up at the old Rotrax Cycles shop in Shirley Southampton a few years back?
