Pets

My top tips: give them plenty of space, don't rush, and don't look at them in the eyes until you've passed.
Yep, I tend to give them a wide berth until there is a solid wall or gate between me and them!
Another good tip is never go between them and a calf, that can escalate their interaction with you pretty quickly.
Cattle related deaths and serious injury are a real if infrequent thing just need a bit of common sense around them. Never used to bother me, I came in to contact with farm animals a lot growing up and would walk among a dairy herd and across fields of bullocks pretty much without fear. I think like my cycling, awareness of what can go wrong has made me more cautious as I’ve got older!

I am rarely more than 50 yards from a large group of bulls being ‘finished’ across the road. Powerful boys who occasionally decide to wander.
