Retro/'old skool' skateboards - anybody got any....??

Another zinger for the thread. Would I be correct in saying this was co designed by tommy guerro and mark gonzales? One of the only boards I've paid retail RRP for as I burn through one a month or so... This has lasted 3 years. Recently received some fresh cruiser wheels busshings and axle nuts in a bid to lengthen the lifespan IMG_20250712_102833.webp IMG_20250712_102722.webp IMG_20250712_102738.webp IMG_20240612_152238.webp IMG_20240515_193753.webp

Yep, Zip Zingers have been in Krooked's lineup since 02. Been a couple spinoffs in larger sizes like the Zip Zagger/Zogger over the years and maybe a few others that have came and gone but the Zinger has been consistent. Shape is loosely based off old 70s slalom decks but scaled up, graphics usually by Gonz/Tommy unless specified that they're not. Safe assumption the shape/dimensions also come from Krooked themselves as I've never seen the shape/dimensions repeated by other brands from the same woodshop. They used to put out 80a Zip Zinger wheels too but I haven't seen them for a few years now.

Tommy Guerrero is the Art Director for Krooked Skateboards, a skateboarding company founded by Mark Gonzales in 2002. Guerrero's role involves translating Mark Gonzales's drawings into artwork for skateboards, merchandise, and advertisements

Nice interview. Enjoyed that one. There isn't much mention of Tommy G drawing anything art wise for krooked. I'm unable to turn up any evidence of my first thought as to the designers. Asked an AI to trawl video transcripts and it didn't find any evidence this time. Maybe I'm imagining that they co-created the zinger shape or perhaps it was Tommy' G's shape that was released through krooked. No idea where I got that from!

Used to do a bit of skating first time dropping in a ripped my leg to bits like a cheese grater picking splinters out for days never grew hairs on leg after that oh happy days but the skateboards are works of art themselves look great on the wall same as the stickers
