Decent pair of cranks ruined

Picked up a bike earlier this week mostly for the frame.

Bonus in that it came with a set of Middleburn RS(7?) cranks attached, but unfortunately the last owner decided the best course of action to make them fit wasn’t to fit a longer BB or different set, but instead they needed to be customised to miss the rear chainstay pivot…

It always amazes me the things people manage to f**k up on these old bikes. Still it's not like the same sort of people would fix their own cars or anything

That is rather stupid. The opposite of a bike I bought. Rather than fit the right BB to some shockingly low rent cranks they fitted, they decided to let the ring make it's own way through the chain stay.

Not wanting to be a vulture. I have a set of middkeburns with a crazy crack from the bottom up around each side. If the good srm you have is the same side as my cracked one, I'd be up for them to make a whole.

On a serious note, if it was just ground to a nice profile and the angle removed, would it be salvageable? Just not for 4' drops.

This sort of thing is not usually done by someone who's forked out the proper moolah, but got it too cheap
