I'm a little surprised at the paint and groupset, even the frame construction, but I know very little about the specifics.
Hopefully a Foxy Retrobiker will fill us in?

Im no expert but that's a 1990 or newer model to me.

1991 I think. My brother had one. Came with 400LX from memory.

Weighed an absolute ton. Not a great bike, but with some rose tinted retro specs it could be someone’s retro dream machine!

Does look very original. I think even those mudguards are genuine, can just about see a paw print on the front one. The saddle bag is a nice accessory too. No idea about the price, it’s not the iconic grello courier comp nor a higher end frame/group. That said the brand in that era had a very wide appeal.

I've given up correcting people now as most people wont have it anyway. I picked up a bike the other day that they 'bought new in the early 80s'. I couldn't be bothered to tell them the groupset, which was the original to the bike, wasn't release until the 1990 model year.

It all goes along with the growth in conspiracy and populist politics.
