Dave Yates custom wayfarer

Have found myself dipping into this side of the forum a little more lately, probably as I have my first road bike in about 20 years on the way!
That’s a lovely bike Andy

So, finally finished this a couple of weeks ago and have done a couple of rides. Still needs a little fettling, and I'm still contemplating swapping to Vs, but it's done. Lovely and smooth over rough tracks with the 2.2" tyres, but they aren't the best on tarmac, too bouncy and not enough grip on corners. And I have the bits for a similar wheelset but with 36 spokes for when I get it loaded up. Oh, and I need a battery for my cateye, and a method of adapting the mount for 31.8mm bars!

Excellent! That is looking really special. Come together as such a cool build.
A slow burner for sure ;)
Looking forward to the ride report and to see if it still lives up to the memories. I have a feeling it's just going to add a few more

Not sure you'd get the right pull on those levers with v brakes.

Cantis that are well set up with the right pads are just as good if not better than v brakes, particularly with drop bars.

IMHO, it looks great. A quality frame goes a long way.
