    Spotted on the street

Couple from today in the sunshine. Nice BSA Weekender And a rather student-mobile type Viking (check out that seat angle)! At least it looks a bit more loved than the thing it's locked to!

Late 40s / Early 50s René Herse tip find

Brilliant work. Great use of modern processes to bring this back from the dead. 👏

    90’s Eddy with Mavic gset

Lovely build, I agree on your shifter point. I am running an almost identical group on my Vitus! If those are the original sintered pads on the brakes, watch out for them eating your rims. I would recommend the Kool Stop replacements if it's a rider.

    Long drop calliper advice

I would recommend TRP RG 957s; https://www.condorcycles.com/products/trp-rg957-deep-drop-brakes I've run them for 5 years on my Audax frame and find them excellent performers, with hardware and finish that has stood up to year round all weather riding. The Tektro hardware tends to be...

    Viscount Aerospace.. but which one?

Next little detail, I bought a SR Lapadre post for this as the old one was scratched and horrible. Sadly it was just slightly too snug. Now solved thanks to the excellent chaps in the machine shop at work who agreed to give it a .2mm skim. 👍👍👍👍

    Wanted 27" wheelset

To suit my (late 70s) Viscount. I decided the ones that came with it are rather far gone. Let me know what you've got!

23mm tan wall tyre options in 2025

Veloflex Corsa Evo (the older Master is good too but now out of production). ...And Vittoria Corsa G2 would be my picks. Both excellent grippy tyres with great rolling resistance and good puncture resistance.. for the roads I ride at least. I considered Challenge for some recent builds but...

rBoTM RBotM May 2025 - Open Month - Entries now open!!!!

Looking forward to seeing the entries, maybe I'll even take something for a spin in the sun to get one in myself. This might be a 'site suggestions' type question but it would be good to see the RoadBOTM appearing on the front page/social media posts. Any chance of that happening? It's a shame...

    Viscount Aerospace.. but which one?

Yes that's exactly the finish level Viscount went for! The frame is true and sound but not refined when you get close up. I did consider smoothing off some of it but "it's all part of it's character" ..or something 😜

    Viscount Aerospace.. but which one?

No, I build scientific instruments - some spraying involved in that and we also prepare samples with various specialised coatings which need the booth/gun etc. I trained and worked as a modelmaker for many years so have plenty of spraying experience from those days. Not so many jazzy colours in...

Okay you passed the test, that's the real rule #1 😁😁 Not knowing is a key part of the thrill of owning one of these exotic rarities 😂

    BRS caliper ID ?

I think they are Dia-Compe, a few in this rough family, I think Gran Compe were the top but these are lower, BRS 200 or similar? They look pretty weathered anyway! I think you are missing a plastic cap over the pivot bolt. Google 'Dia Compe BRS' and you can hunt down the exact model. 🤞
