HED Carbon Rims Identification – XC or Downhill?

Thanks. That 97 catalog scan is new to me. Maybe the difference between XC and Downhill was the width only?

Sure, here are two closeups of the seam.

HED Carbon Rims Identification – XC or Downhill?

I believe fairings (?) like these are produced in halves and then bonded onto the aluminum rim..not 100% sure though. I recall I read somwehere that there was issues with dirt and water getting trapped inside the fairing, and that they then started to add foam. Can't recall where unfortunately.

HED Carbon Rims Identification – XC or Downhill?

Hello I recently picked up these HED carbon fiber rims in 32h. They're in excellent condition – and believe it or not, the brake tracks are completely unused, as the wheelset was run with disc brakes. Only the HED logo stickers reimain unfortunately. How can I tell whether these are the Cross...

For Sale Ringle 29.4 seatpost, M900 cantis, NOS mavic rims M231, 117CD 36h

Hello Rami. I’m currently not at home to measure it, but the post is uncut and, if I recall correctly, the length from the rail to the bottom is approximately 35 cm. Thanks Martin

    1992 Litespeed dream build

Ha, I know what you mean. These American Classic ones feel a bit more solid, but I’ll keep an eye on them once/if the bike sees some real riding. And yes, I got lucky with customs this time. Loose bits just tossed around in the box… could’ve ended badly. Still a few bits left to sort, but it’s...

    1992 Litespeed dream build

Small Update Went over a few more parts today—cleaned and mounted the rear derailleur. Also fitted the XTR M900 brakes with SRP titanium mounting bolts. Pedals are Specialized Direct Drive titanium—around 200 grams. Composite body with aluminum cage and titanium axle. Manufactured by MKS...

    1992 Litespeed dream build

One of my favorite little details: a full set of SRP titanium chainring bolts - lightened with unusually large bore-outs, and SRP titanium crank bolts. Bottom bracket is a Litespeed titanium.

Got the frameset up in the stand today for a light cleaning and polish with Autosol. Starting to go through the details. The entire M900 groupset has matching September 1991 date codes (code PI). Pretty incredible to see everything line up.

Thanks. Crazy. I feared the worst, that one of the rare quick releases was missing! But everything was there. 😮‍💨

Thanks for the tip. I got it covered already 👍. I actually had one NOS Tuf-Nek which I contemplated to switch to but the neon sticker doesn’t really match with the other yellow ones. This length suits me better as well.

    1992 Litespeed dream build

I've been meaning to share more build threads, but I rarely document my projects step by step and time is always short. With that said, I couldn't not share this one. It’s simply too good to keep to myself 😅 This bike just came to me straight from Second Spin Cycles, so I can’t take any credit...
