That's hilarious. Having worked in a bike shop i wish I'd had your self-awareness before accepting the job.

    Today's Ride

Ah, if that's rugby then it would explain the complete absence of red-faced w**kers in range rovers. Long may England stay in the competition! 🥳

    Today's Ride

Given it's such a densely populated part of the UK I'm surprised how quiet many of the lanes can be. I often do a winter night ride on this circuit and hardly see any traffic.

A sunny spin through the leafy lanes of East (and a tiny bit of West) Sussex this morning.

Can Alu frames ever feel like Steel frames?

I was thinking about his Castellano. I also wondered how the aluminium plate chainstays stand up to flexing. Is it just accepted that they will have a finite lifespan then crack? I have ridden a lot of aluminium frames. It's my favourite frame material by far. I think a lot of its "comfort" and...

    Today's Ride

Dewy, misty morning spin today. I went up through the cloud and it was sunny above. I love this time of year.

    Today's Ride

Not exactly today's ride, but the final journey of a few bits from my summer's riding. A fond farewell to a couple of pairs of old shoes - and to the last carbon frame I'll ever buy (deemed uneconomic to repair). It's been a heck of a summer. Got fitter again than I remembered I could be.

here's Lance Armstrong today. He's retro isn't he

I've always thought this. You can have all the drugs in the world, but you've still got to go round corners and downhill like a nutter - and off road occasionally. At any level of bike racing you've got to get to the finish line. He's a pretty low rent human being, but he was a great bike racer.
