Any idea what this is? - 1920s Radior

This will be my favourite thread to follow. So much is thread bare in this period and when all said and done what is in your hands is what is in your hands to make the most of. There really is not much to do but to plough on at your own pace and budget and spread news who may be of some very...

My advice would be separate a rebuild vs the cosmetics of it all. A mechanical rebuild is the hardest to see if it works for you. Cosmetics or "finition" is so such at a later stage with a bike like this and needs a careful future consideration. IMHO.

Guys, honestly, lets do out best to support the individual promotor's and their goods and mods to organise this in the future.

Daniel Rebour - Illustrator. Who's your favourite cycling illustrator/Cartoonist?

The Ideale. It's a while ago now I was looking for one to complete an ultimate ode to what I attempted (the everything icing on the cake) - at the time, they were not cheap on Ebay nor LBC. My bike build budget had already doubled and had to keep to the original which was an Ideale in great...

Who rode a gas-pipe bike in the 70s?

On a lighter note. Did anyone fcuk around with Humbro paint on their gas pipes and get a bollocking for it?

Honestly, if the Bumble Bee won I would have had my doubts that all you "old farts" gathered in mass because it looks and resembles retro despite the little bit over dreaded cut-off time line. It was the down pull LX FD wasn't it? And rigid forks. And bar ends. Please say it was the bar ends...

    Steerer tube extending without welding

With the proposed idea, I can't see a quill stem going down there deep enough - what minimum insert about 70mm? The idea of stuffing something solid and threaded at the top would allow to keep the threaded headset but then would need to use 1" ahead stem with a sleeve and internal thread for...

    Steerer tube extending without welding

Seems like a daft idea to begin with. Why cut it in half and make two friction joints that can potentially fail? If it would stand a friction fit why not just stuff an extra 40mm threaded section on the top? Best left to those who have experience in this IMHO.

    Headset Play

Needs to be completely binned and completely re-done with an unfcuked HS by someone familiar with pre-cartridge bearing stuff. IMHO.

👍 Gap between crown race and lower fork cup looks too big for me, and heaven forbid hope that is not a crack in the top headset part.

Overflowing with high quality and looks great 🥰:) For a new freewheel remover I would go with Var, Unior or Cyclus. Even a good quality one especially the prong type can get a beating if regularly used on stubborn freewheels.

Typically, the mudguard hole would have been drilled "vertically" on the rear stay bridge at this period, at least for French mudguards, if indeed it was intended to have mudguards to begin with. Bowden cable operated brakes only came in the picture around the very late 1910 or for the most...
