If you are taking apart a 2/3 chainring chainset then remember to get some short SS specific chain ring bolts. These are fairly cheap can be had online for about £5-£10.
Also as others have mentioned the middle ring will be fine, I ride SS but I ended up going for a bigger chainring up front as...
The only thing I can think of is that with all the brakes in the cable for the various cable stops maybe there is some movement. Is there any real disadvantage to running a full cable to the rear brake other than having to zip tie to the frame and the marginal weight increase ?
