Coincidentally, I also grew up in Plympton and owned a Raleigh Marauder (long gone though) bought from Battery Cycle Works ✌️ My brother had a Dynatech from Battery Cycle Works in 1994, but I don't think it has the sticker on it.

The frame is a 1993 Raleigh M Trax Duo Tech, the ones that had two ti tubes bonded into an alloy headtube and a cromo rear triangle. So it's not exactly a race-weight frame.

Deep down I knew the sensible answer was to not take the risk doing something dumb like using a potentially rusted frame. It's just a shame to not be able to use this frame, from my first proper MTB owned since 1994, for anything more than a wall hanger :/

I have a question for thee. What's the current going rate for shipping a bike or a frame within the UK? I've been away from the retrobike buying / selling scene for a good few years so I have no idea now. Inflation has taken its toll I'm sure. Also, do bike shops still give away bike boxes...
