    Eroica Hispania anyone?

I am in Saumur right now for the Anjou! Care to share a link to "your" Spanish event?

    RetroRonde: Who's going?

No problem at all with your bike... it is a friendly and inclusive event rather than a snob and exclusive... nobody is going to complain about your hidden brake cables... Nice bike BTW

    Eroica Hispania anyone?

not aware of that. The Eroica Hispania is 200 Km with 3 K of climbing... I am happy to drive down to the Rioja for something a bit epic...most retro events are 70-100 Km, if you know a similarly epic event in Spain, please let me know

    Eroica Hispania anyone?

Anyone did the first edition last sunday? I've seen a few Brits posted the route on Strava... I'd like to do it next year... any comment? Positive/negative?

about drum brakes on a tandem

Re: OK... I have drilled the fork and the rear bridge... luckily the bridge was big enough to drill an 8 mm hole on the outside... (you have to drill from the outside, so only the outside hole can be bigger than the inside and not viceversa) basically I will fit a recessed bolt and the caliper...

HOW MUCH IS THIS Donohue WORTH?

Not very much... the purists will be horrified by those welds...

    RetroRonde: Who's going?

It is indeed a great event. Done it twice in 2012 and 2013. Doing the Anjou Velo Vintage with my wife instead this year, same weekend and a prettier area than Vlaanderen for a long weekend away. Next year Eroica Hispania in the Rioja... on paper looks as awesome and epic as the real one in...

about drum brakes on a tandem

I just bought a vintage Sun Wasp Reynolds 531 tandem frame for 40 quid, but it is meant to be fitted with drum brakes. I can drill the fork to take a front caliper, but the rear has to be a drum brake, I fear... I did a bit of reading about drums... are they really that bad as Sheldon Brown...

Campagnolo Daytona and Galli Criterium parts

Re: Re: problem is typically the nut fitting ones are all 1960-70s and all crap... things like Weinmann and Universal just don't do the job of stopping a bloke on a bike. What I did on a 1960s Claude Butler was to open up the inner hole on the fork and rear bridge with a drill so that it would...

Campagnolo Daytona and Galli Criterium parts

As above, they are recessed bolt fitting and they come with the bolts. Criterium are same period as Super Record... early 80s and they "copy" the design of SR calipers
