So I've got the new steerer now but it doesn't have the little collar attracted to it like the one shown above. I've tried fitting it together like the fab diagram above but it's loose in the frame. I've just ordered a pace snug collar from eBay as well.
I'll lay the bits I've got out in a line...
Managed to get it out. Thanks so much for your help.
I do now need a pace steerer to put back in at around 270mm?
Anyone know where I can get one? 1 1/8.
Thanks I'll give it ago.
I lost a bloody ballbearing washer that was inside the Marin frame steerer hole.
There's was one above and below the join. Have no idea which way round the washers and stuff go? There's lots with the Marin frame that connected the old fork.
Re:
I've undone the two small screws but it just opens the small gap in the head. The steerer just turns. Does the rc36 definitely have a changeable steerer?
Hey guys,
Just fitted pace retro forks to my Marin bobcat but they're about 2 inches too short so I can't finish fitting them. They have a small thread inside can I buy like a riser to go inside to give me the height I need?
Cheers
Thanks so much for the swift reply. I'll check the Pace RC36 has the right thread.
Exciting stuff. I have a Trek Superfly 8 but always had this Marin since university.
Can't wait!
Hi Guys,
I'm excited about doing up my old Marin Bob Cat Trail 1999.
All I wanna do is give it suspension and a brakes and gear overhaul.
Will these forks fit it?
Pace RC36 evo nitride suspension fork?
Also what brakes and stuff do you recommend?
Frame is in good condition and wheels.
Cheers
