    Mystery Raleigh Roadbike

Re: I was lucky to see a photo of one in New York,on the internet, then I saw a photo of a Carlton badge , and I remembered that the original Head badge which had been missing since the 1970's was the blue and red Carlton badge not a Raleigh one. Raleigh was a decal on the down tube. I started...

    Mystery Raleigh Roadbike

Re: For those interested, the bike is a Carlton Corsa Strada from around 1970. I have finally found a set of photos of a bike with all the correct decals, and badges and all the frame details are identical. Wrap over rear stays, rear brake cable stop, pump brackets on the cross tube etc.

Raleigh Road Bike 531 tubing for restoration, late 1960's.

A Raleigh road/ racing bike from late 1960's/ early 1970's. For Restoration, Check the photos. I have owned the bike since 1975, when it was second hand. It is possibly a Royal, or Supercourse. Frame is good, and built with REYNOLDS 531 TUBING. Wrap over rear stays and rear brake cable...

    Mystery Raleigh Roadbike

Work commitments and serious plumbing "issues " with underground heating pipes at home leave no spare time. I appreciate the interest shown in my bike question...

    Mystery Raleigh Roadbike

Well spotted Jonny ! Despite a fading memory of minor events 35 years ago , I now recall that replacement forks came with the bike, as the originals were bent. The frame is definitely a Raleigh though. Wish I could find the head badge. As I bought the bike in 1975, and it was in a very "second...

    Mystery Raleigh Roadbike

Thanks for the interesting replies.I have searched in all the normal places for a serial number, but all I can find is a letter X under the bottom bracket, with no number. I have scraped the paint off there. At the weekend I will remove the back wheel and check the dropouts again. I know it...

    Mystery Raleigh Roadbike

I hope someone can recognise the model type of this Raleigh bike as I want to sell it. I bought it as a runabout in 1975, and as the paintwork was tatty, I resprayed it with some car paint I had. As most of the cycling I have done recently, is quite often on rough tracks, I use a mountain bike...
